Women’s Golf Closes Out 2nd Round In 3rd Place

FLOWOOD, Miss. – The Texas Southern women’s golf team dropped to third place at the end of the second round of the 2024 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Golf Championship on Tuesday.

Junior Alexa Gonzalez sits in fourth place for the Tigers following her 7-over round giving her a two-day total of 155 (77 – 79). Junior Ashlie Hobbs is tied for 5th place on 157 (76 – 81). Freshman Shawnise Gregory is three strokes back on 160 (77 – 83) and in 11th place while senior Lyla Vaughn sits in 13th place on 162 (81 -81).

The competing teams play at the Refuge Golf Club, a 6,115-yard par-72 championship course. The Tigers tee up for the final round of the SWAC Championships on Wednesday morning with an 8 a.m. start.
