Women’s Golf In 4th After Day 1 Of PGA Works

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Texas Southern University women’s golf team is in fourth place following the opening round of the PGA Works Collegiate Championship on the Bent Brook Golf Course.

Sophomore Dili Sitanonth leads the way for the Tigers after carding a 2-over 73 on the 5,772-yard course. Sitanonth posted two birdies, four bogeys, and 12 pars to leave her tied for seventh place at the end of day one.

Juniors Ashlie Hobbs is tied for 13th with her 4-over 75 while Lyla Vaughn is two strokes back on 77 and A’marie Smith carded a 79.

The competing teams alternate courses each day and will be playing at Shoal Creek Club, a 5,969-yard par-72 championship course for round two. The Tigers tee up for the next round of the PGA Works Collegiate Championship Tuesday morning with an 8:30 a.m. start.
