The Texas Southern University baseball team swept Arkansas-Pine Bluff in its three-game weekend series inside the Torii Hunter Complex. Michael Goudeau highlighted the series going 9-for-14 with seven RBIs, a grand slam and a double.

Game 1: TSU 9, UAPB 6
Jaden Jones and Goudeau led the Tiger offense as they both went 4-for-5 and had two RBIs as the Tigers topped the Golden Lions 9-6 in the first game. CJ Castillo followed up, going 3-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored.

Domenic Martinez (3-3) started on the mound for TSU, pitching the first six innings, while only giving up just one run. He also struck out four and walked one.

Texas Southern played its best inning at the top of the seventh as they scored three runs on four hits to lead, 7-1. The Golden Lions nearly rallied back at the bottom of the ninth as they scored five runs on just two hits, taking advantage of three Tiger errors. Jalyn Williams homered for three RBIs on two outs for a final score of 9-6.

Game 2: TSU 5, UAPB 1
After a quiet first five innings, Jonathan Trejo reach on an error, then Nin Burns, ll and Alex Diaz was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Goudeau followed with a grand slam as the Tigers led 4-0.

The Golden Lions committed three errors at the top of the seventh while the Tigers capitalized with one run.

Shannon Martin, Castillo and Goudeau all went 2-for-4 at the plate. Alford Dalton picked up the win for TSU in 7.0 innings pitched, striking out six and walking three.

Game 3: TSU 12, UAPB 8
Two extra innings were played as Texas Southern won the game with four runs scored at the top of the eleventh inning. Goudeau led Texas Southern with three hits, two runs, and one RBI.

Dade Hensley picked up the win for the Tigers in three innings as he struck out three, walked three and gave up just one run.

Texas Southern will take on Southern University in a three-game series on Friday (3 p.m.), Saturday (2 p.m.), and Sunday (1 p.m.) inside MacGregor Park.
