Volleyball To Conclude Regular Season Play in Prairie View


The Texas Southern volleyball team will look to even the season series against Prairie View A&M as they will conclude regular season play on Friday inside the William Nicks Building. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m.

Texas Southern (8-21 Overall, 8-7 SWAC) went 1-1 this week as they fell 3-2 against Southern on Sunday, and defeated Alcorn on Monday 3-1. Kennedy Reed led the Tigers with kills 23 and 33 digs overall, while freshman libero Ryan Henderson recorded a career-high 10 kills against Alcorn.

Scouting Report
Prairie View (17-12, 12-3) went 2-0 on Sunday and Monday against Alcorn State and Southern as both games were won by a 3-0 decision. The Lady Braves have swept SWAC opponents 3-0, a total of eight times this season.

TSU SWAC Statistic Leaders
The Tigers feature two players in the top 10 SWAC hitting percentage including Kourtni Collier at No. 6 (.263) having 159 kills on 392 attempts in 101 sets played. Chenise Cook follows at No. 7 with a .262 hitting percentage (152 kills on 397 attempts). Collier also has 81 blocks this season in 101 sets which puts her at No. 5 in blocks. Henderson sits at No. 8 in the conference for digs as she recorded 310 in 99 sets this season.
