Volleyball To Host Southern On Sunday

The Texas Southern volleyball team will take on Southern University in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play on Sunday at 5 p.m. at the H&PE Arena. 

The Tigers (1-15, 1-1 SWAC) is coming off a 3-1 loss to Grambling State on Tuesday. GSU won the first two sets 25-19 and 25-18. Texas Southern saw a back-and-forth battle in the third set but came out victorious winning, 32-30. GSU would call it game in set four as they won 25-17.

Series History 
•TSU leads the series 21-12 since the 2011 season
•The Tigers are currently on a two game winning streak
•The last time these two teams played was Nov. 2022, TSU took the win, 3-1

Scouting Report 
Southern University (3-7, 1-0) is on a two game winning streak as they swept Dillard University and Alcorn State 3-0 last Tuesday and Monday. Against SWAC opponent Alcorn, The Jaguars were paced offensively by Elise Doomes  as she registered 10 kills, while the team finished with 42. Doomed leads the SWAC with a .307 hitting percentage as she has 60 kills on 150 attempts in just 18 sets.
