Tigers Snap 10 Game Win Streak Against Lamar

A seven run second inning and a 10 run sixth inning for Lamar University was the difference as the Texas Southern baseball team fell 20-2 on Wednesday evening at Vincent-Beck Stadium. 

The Tigers (18-19) managed to plate two run total, one at the top of the second as Nin Burns, ll walked and moved up on a sacrifice bunt by Jason Lazo. Michael Goudeau  singled to shortstop to score Burns, ll. This run would tie the game up at one run each. 

At the bottom of the second, Lamar (31-8) plated seven runs on four hits for a 8-1 lead. The Tigers final run was scored at the top of the fourth after Lazo tripled to right center, then Goudeau walked. After one out, Shannon Martin singled up the middle to score Lazo. 

The Cardinals picked up 10 runs on three hits at the bottom of the sixth to put the game away. 

Texas Southern will take on Grambling State in Grambling, La. in a three-game series on Friday (6 p.m.), Saturday (3 p.m.), and Sunday (1 p.m.).
