Tigers Go 0-3 In Weekend Series Against Texas Tech

The Texas Southern baseball team went 0-3 in a three-game weekend series against Texas Tech as Chase Cromer and Jason Lazo highlighted the series with homers.

The Tigers (2-5) fell to Texas Texas (6-2), 32-5 on Friday, 20-4 on Saturday, and 16-5 on Sunday.

Game 1: Texas Tech, Texas Southern 5
Texas Southern registered five runs on seven hits and committed six errors  to Texas Tech’s 32 runs on 24 hits with no errors. Lazo led the way for the Tigers going 4-for-2 with one run. Tyler Williams, Shannon Martin, Edmundo Alanis, Nin Burns ll, and Alex Diaz each had one hit.

Game 2: Texas Tech 20, Texas Southern 4
CJ Castillo led the way for the Tigers as he went 3-for-2 and had one run with three RBIs. The Red Raiders highlighted a 10 run fourth inning as they registered 20 runs on 19 hits and committed just one error. The Tigers scored four runs on nine hits and committed just one error.

Game 3: Texas Tech 16, Texas Southern 5
Chase Cromer and Lazo hit two homers in the first inning as Texas Southern registered five runs on 10 hits. Texas Tech tallied 16 runs on 13 hits to round out the three-game series.

Up Next
The Tigers will face Wiley College at MacGregor Park on Wednesday with a 3 p.m start time.
