TSUSports.com: O’Rourke Tied For 1st, Men’s Golf Finishes 6th At Koasati Pines Intercollegiate

KINDER, La. – The Texas Southern University men’s golf team placed sixth after the final round of the Koasati Pines Intercollegiate hosted by Nicholls State University Tuesday.

Junior Liam O’Rourke captured his first individual win for the Tigers after posting a career-low three-day total of 8-under par 208 (68 – 69 – 71) and was tied for first place individually with Stephen F. Austin’s Jaxon Griffith. O’Rourke posted the most amount of eagles for the event after carding three in his opening rounds. O’Rouke went 4-under (68) in the first round which included an eagle, five birdies, 10 pars, one bogey, and one double-bogey. His second round included two eagles, four birdies, eight pars, and five bogeys to give him a 3-under-par 69. O’Rouke started the final round one stroke off the leader and posted four birdies, 11 pars, and three bogeys for his one-under-par 71 final round.

Teammate Kci Lindskog finished tied 16th with his even-par 216 (75 – 68 – 73). Lindskog was able to salvage his final round after a tough start to post up a one-over-par 73. Sophomore Ravepon Kosalutta recorded a 225 (72 – 79 – 74) while freshman Matthew Vanhoy was one stroke back on 226 (77 – 72 – 77). Darian Faust finished with a 244 (78 – 84 – 82).

The Koasati Pines Intercollegiate was hosted at Koasati Pines Golf Course, a par 72, 7,464-yard course with a 54-hole tournament format over two days.

The Tigers conclude their regular season at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship on April 15-17 in Flowood, Miss.
