Three Tigers Score In Win Against Sul Ross State

Three Lady Tigers scored as Texas Southern picked up its first win of the season, 3-1 against Sul Ross State at Alexander Durley Stadium.

How it Happen:
Hajar Benjoud scored her sixth goal of the season in the 6th minute to put the Tigers on the board 1-0.

Kourtney Celaya added on to the lead as she scored her first goal of the season in the 42nd minute.

Sul Ross cut the deficit in half early in the second half, scoring in the 46th minute, but it wasn’t enough as TSU’s Victoria Pucci would also get her first goal of the season in the 54th minute to seal the game.

Head Coach Lindsay Vera On Game:
“This is exactly what we were looking for: we didn’t have much on the opponent, we didn’t have much on ourselves,” Vera said. “We were looking for consistency from the start of the game, to halftime, and to the second half. I think we pulled a lot out of them this game as far as consistency and performance goes.”
