Soccer Falls on Road To Alabama A&M

The Texas Southern soccer team couldn’t hold on to a 2-2 tie as they fell 6-2 to Alabama A&M on Sunday evening in Southwetsern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play.

Texas Southern is now 5-12-1 Overall, 4-3-1 SWAC.

How It Happen
>The Tigers were down 2-0 after the 17th minute but tied the match within a four minute span after a goal by Lilianie Clase Baez in the 47th minute and another by Hajar Benjoud in the 51st minute.
>Victoria Mealing of AAMU answered backed in the 52nd minute to take a 3-2 lead.
>The Lady Bulldogs would push the margin with three goals in a six minute span (70th, 71st, 76th minute).
>TSU Goalie, Alessandra Bastidas played a full match will registering five saves.
>Goalkeeper Liliana Ribeiro of AAMU played a full match as well as she registered nine saves.

Inside the Numbers
>Texas Southern took 12 shots with 11 being on goal
>Alabama A&M took 17 shots with 12 being on goal
>TSU registered six saves
>AAMU tallied nine saves
>The Tigers took eight corner kicks
>The Lady Bulldogs took nine corner kicks
>There were 16 fouls total
