Soccer Opens SWAC Play Against Grambling State

The Texas Southern soccer team will open Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play against Grambling State University at home inside Alexander Durley Stadium on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Texas Southern (1-9) is coming off of a 10-0 loss to Texas A&M. In the match, Isabella Dillow paced the Tigers with three shots with one being on goal. Hajar Benjoud and Akiya Saine chipped in one shot each. Jaidyn Christophe tallied 12 saves total, while Alyssa Hart added four in 28 minutes of action.

SCOUTING REPORT
Grambling State (2-4-3) has concluded its non-conference slate with a 1-0 loss to the University of Louisiana at Monroe. GSU attempted five shots with two being on goal while Madison Covey-Taylor played all 90 minutes in goal, making three saves.  

Adrianna Pratt was selected SWAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week as she assisted GSU to holding ULM to only one goal scored on a penalty kick.

UP NEXT
TSU will remain home at Alexander Durley Stadium to take on Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
