Hobbs, Sitanonth Lead Women’s Golf At UTRGV Invitational After Day 1

 MCALLEN, Texas – The Texas Southern Women’s Golf team is positioned in ninth place at the end of day one of the UTRGV Invitational hosted by The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in McAllen, Texas.

Junior Ashlie Howard-Hobbs and sophomore Dili Sitanonth lead the way for the Tigers following their opening round 11-over 153 totals and are tied for 29th.

Hobbs’ 153 (79-74) saw a total of 23 pars and two birdies while Sitanonth’s 153(77-76) reflected 19 pars and three birdies.

The competing teams are playing at McAllen Country Club which is a 5,951-yard par-71 championship course. The final round of the tournament will commence with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
