Goudeau Hits Three Run Homer, Tigers Fall to Prairie View On Day Two Of Cactus Jack Classic

Michael Goudeau highlighted day two of the Cactus Jack Classic with a three-run homer, but the Texas Southern University baseball team fell short to Prairie View A&M 5-3 at Minute Maid Park on Saturday night.

After a scoreless first inning for both teams, Texas Southern (1-1) got on base as Jose Villalobos walked and advanced a base after a Jaden Jones single through the left side. Goudeau hit his first homer of the season to left field to put the Tigers up 3-0.

Prairie View (2-0) evened the game in the bottom of fifth as they scored three runs on three hits, then added one more run in both the sixth and seventh inning to put the game away.

Domenic Martinez started on the mound for the Tigers as he pitched 5.0 innings. He was tagged for  three runs on six hits while walking one and striking out five. Alford Dalton picked up the loss for TSU pitching the relief at the bottom of the sixth. Issac Garcia pitched 2.0 innings and was tagged for one run and one hit.

Texas Southern will take on Southern at Minute Maid Park on Sunday at 7 p.m. in the final game of the Cactus Jack Classic.
