Women’s Track & Field Posts 8 Top-10 Marks At SWAC Indoor Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The TSU women’s track team wrapped up its 2024 indoor season as the team posted eight top-10 finishes at the SWAC Indoor Championship inside the Birmingham Crossplex.
 
Senior Shelby Brooks placed second in the 400-meter dash with a personal-best time of 54.52 followed by sophomore Bayli George’s sixth-place run of 56.9. Freshman Erica Grant ran a personal best time of 24.83 in the 200 to finish seventh while Jessica Williams finished eighth (19:42.42) in the 5,000 and 10^th (11:17.76) in the 3,000-meter runs as both times were personal bests.
 
Ryann Richards placed third in the pole vault with a length of 10-2.5 along with Alexis Williams’ third-place finish of 39-7.75 feet in the triple jump. The mile relay quartet of Desirae Roberts, Avia Trammell, Brooks and George placed third running out of the fastest heat with a season-best time of 3:46.42.
