Gonzalez Posts Career-Best Time While Winning The 5,000 At Texas State

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Jose Gonzalez set a personal best mark while winning the 5,000-meter run at the Bobcat Invitational & Multi this past weekend.
 
Gonzalez ran a record-best 14:47.32 in the event as he placed first overall. It also marked the first time he cracked the sub-15-minute mark in the event.
 
Isaac Henderson ran a personal-best time of 10.43 in the 100-meter dash to place eighth overall and sixth in the SWAC. Teammate Chaunzavia Lewis finished the same event with a 10.5 as he ranks seventh in the SWAC. The 4×100-meter relay of Trevon Ridley, Lewis, William Perry and Henderson ran a season-best 40.67 to place sixth.
 
Turey Stoudmire jumped 6-9 in the high jump en route to a third-place finish while Donyae Castaneda jumped 23-8.25 to finish seventh in the long jump. Jalen Walker threw a personal-best (51-5) in the shot put as he ranks second in the SWAC. Blaine Nunn (47-5.75) and Kellen Garion (44-7) finished seventh and 10th, respectively.
 
Jaden Brooks record a personal-best length of 154-11 as he placed eighth in the discus.
 
TSU is back in action at the Cameron Burrell Alumni Invitational located at the University of Houston this weekend.
