Women’s Basketball Drops Contest At Rice

A low scoring second half for the Texas Southern women’s basketball team was to blame for a 74-44 loss to Rice University on Wednesday night inside the Tudor Fieldhouse.

Texas Southern (1-5) was led by Taniya Lawson who scored 12 points.

Rice (4-3) was led by Dominique Ennis who had a game-high 25 points as she was 6-of-10 from behind the arc.

Rice opened scoring with a jumper in the paint, then TSU’s Tatyanna Clayburne and Lawson drained back-to-back three-pointers for a 6-2 lead.
