Season Comes To An End For Softball

The 2023 softball season came to an end as TSU dropped a 2-0 decision to Bethune-Cookman on Thursday morning.

BCU scored the initial run in the first on a sac fly. TSU’s Madison Battle would triple in the second with one out but couldn’t score as BCU recorded a strikeout and foul out to end the inning. TSU’s Destinee Dixon led the third off with a hit but once again TSU couldn’t capitalize as BCU recorded three straight outs.

In the fourth, TSU had two runners on with two outs but the inning ended with the base runner thrown out. BCU added another run in the fourth to lead 2-0 but TSU once again had another missed opportunity in the fifth as a strikeout with two outs thwarted Destinee Dixon’s two-out triple

Madison Griggs drew a leadoff walk in the seventh and forced a BCU pitching change. However, BCU logged two groundouts and line out to third to end the contest.

Dixon finished 2-for-2 while Jazmine Gendorf struck out six in a complete game effort.
