Holmes And Belton Score In Double Figures In Road Loss to Prairie View

Daeja Holmes and Jaida Belton scored in double figures in a 78-65 loss to Prairie View A&M on Saturday night inside the William Nicks building.

Prairie View A&M (9-9 Overall, 5-3 SWAC) outscored Texas Southern (4-16, 3-6), 26-18 in the fourth as the Panthers had its best shooting in that period, shooting 8-of-13 from the field and 10-of-11 from the charity stripe.

The Tigers were paced offensively by Holmes who registered 17 points. Belton followed with 14 points, nine boards, three steals, and two blocks.

Ryan Payne led PVAMU with 21 points, while Adreanna Waddle chipped in 13 points and six rebounds. Jada Roberson tallied three steals for the Panthers defense

How it Happen
•The Panthers had a slight 36-31 advantage at the half.

•Both teams scored 16 points in the third quarter, leaving the Prairie View with the same five point lead going into the fourth quarter.

•The closes the game would get was a three point  deficit as  Jordyn Turner opened the fourth quarter with a layup.

•The Tigers had its lowest shooting period in the fourth, shooting just 6-of-19 from the field.
