Golf Posts Pair of Individual Winners at Season Opener

WALLER, Texas – Texas Southern men’s and women’s golf teams teed up their spring season with two individual wins and a women’s team win at the Prairie View A&M Golf Dual Monday.

The Panthers were this year’s host for the second annual dual held at Sand Hill Farms Golf Club.

The women’s golf team posted a 319-team finish to win the match. Senior Ashlie Hobbs posted a 2-over round 74 to finish tied for first place with Prairie View’s Shani Waite. Lyla Vaughn was five strokes back with a 79 and placed third while junior Alexa Gonzalez finished fourth.

Junior Kci Lindskog was the top individual scorer on the men’s side with his 3-over 75. Lindskog finished one shot ahead of the men’s field. Freshman Matthew VanHoy finished in sixth place as the men’s team placed second overall.

The Tigers are on the road this weekend as they compete in the ASU Spring Invitational hosted by Alabama State University in Montgomery, Ala.
