• Saturday’s contest will feature live audio on KTSU 90.9 FM and will be shown live on HBCU Go.

• TSU is looking for its second win of the 2023 season as they defeated Lincoln University on Sept. 30 for Homecoming. TSU is looking to break into the SWAC win column for the first time this season.

• TSU and Bethune-Cookman have not met since an eight-game series spanning from 1975-1981.

• BCU is led by new head coach Raymond Woodie and  is also looking for its first SWAC win like TSU. BCU has dropped three straight dating back to Sept. 14.

• BCU head coach Raymond Woodie and TSU Chief of Staff Charles Nichols were both on the staff at Florida State under Willie Taggert while BCU co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach Donte’ Pimpleton and Nichols both attended and played for Western Kentucky.

• TSU hasn’t played in the state of Florida since 2017 when they traveled to Florida A&M for its season opener.

• TSU will be guests of Bethune-Cookman’s Homecoming festivities. Last year, TSU played the role of homecoming spoilers with wins at Alcorn State and UAPB.

• TSU has played a pair of quarterbacks this season in Andrew Body and Jace Wilson. Wilson has taken over the top spot due to an injury to Body.

• TSU quarterback Andrew Body has 4,102 career yards passing and ranks fourth all-time at TSU. Body has 1,282 yards and ranks 17th all-time in rushing and second all-time in total offense with 5,226 yards.

• The Tigers feature fifth-year head coach Clarence McKinney. A Houston native, McKinney attended high school across the street at Jack Yates High School and played collegiately at Montana State and the University of Mary. He also served as head coach at Yates before joining the staffs at Houston, Texas A&M and Arizona.

Clarence McKinney is the 17th head coach in the history of Texas Southern Football. McKinney has a task ahead as the program has only had 28 winning seasons in 76 years of existence and hasn’t recorded a winning season since 2000.

• McKinney won as a student at Yates High School and helped the University of Mary post three winning seasons as a student-athlete in college which made school history. As head coach at Yates, McKinney posted a mark of 30-8 over three years before moving on to the collegiate ranks as an assistant. As an assistant at Houston, Texas A&M and Arizona, McKinney has only experienced three losing seasons in his 11 years of collegiate coaching.
