Avent Named SWAC Women’s Basketball Player Of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Texas Southern’s Andriana Avent as its women’s player of the week for her outstanding performance during the past week of competition.

Avent surpassed double figures for TSU against Rice and Ole Miss as she scored her 500th career point at Ole Miss on Monday night. Avent averaged 17.5 points, two steals, and one rebound per game as the Sacramento, Calif. native scored 22 points against Rice and 13 at Ole Miss while combining to drain five three pointers with three steals. 

TSU is back in action on Sunday, Dec. 11 at Florida State.
