WBB Falls To LSU On Road

The Texas Southern women’s basketball team dropped a 106-47 decision Monday Night against the defending National Champions, LSU inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Texas Southern (1-3 Overall, 0-0 SWAC) had its only lead, 4-2 after a layup by Jaida Belton in the opening quarter. The game was tied at seven after a trey by Gretta Galban, but that would be as close as it would get as LSU went on a 19-4 run to lead 26-11 at the end of the first.

TSU had its lowest scoring period in the second quarter that would put the game out of reach as they were 3-of-12 with seven points to LSU’s 10-of-20 from the field.

Daeja Holmes and Taniya Lawson each scored 11 points for the Texas Southern offense.

Texas Southern is back in action on Wednesday inside the H&PE Arena against Stephen F. Austin. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
