TSU Baseball, Softball Batting Cages Receives New Lights From RJT Construction

The Texas Southern baseball and softball programs received a huge upgrade with the donation of batting cage lights from RJT Construction in December of 2022.

TSU baseball alumnus Alfonso Reyna, a member of the 2004 baseball team which defeated top-seeded Rice University in the NCAA Tournament, reached out to the Department of Athletics about the project and connected the department with RJT Construction.

The lights will allow the TSU baseball and softball programs to access the cages both day and night in addition to allowing the student-athletes more flexibility to hit around their class schedules.

“Coach Rodriguez and I truly appreciate the donation,” said head baseball coach Michael Robertson. “We’ve already seen immediate dividends since the installation and look forward to carrying that momentum over in the future.”
