Tigers Set To Face Omaha Inside H&PE Arena

•The Texas Southern women’s basketball team is back action at home as they will take on Nebraska Omaha for the first time in history inside the H&PE Arena on Monday. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.

•The Tigers are coming off a 82-45 road loss to Tulsa on Friday evening inside the Reynolds Center. Texas Southern was led by Jordyn Turner who regis- tered nine points while being 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.

•Omaha (3-6) topped the Peru State Bobcats at Sapp Fieldhouse in a 92-70 contest.

•Five Mavericks scored in double-figures as Morgann Gardner paced the offense with 19 points. Gardner went 7-of-10 on field goals and 5-of-7 on free throws.

• Lawson sits at No.9 in the SWAC for scoring, averaging 11.1 points per game.

•Jaida Belton is the second leading blocker in the SWAC having 14 in eight games played and sits at No. 6 for rebounds, averaging 6.5 per game.

•TSU Head Coach Vernette Skeete will look for her first career win in the month of December.

•The Tigers will have a lot to prove as they were selected to finish 11th in the Preseason SWAC Predicted Order of Finish.

• The Tigers brought in nine newcomers this year. However, they’ve lost nine letterwinners and feature a pair of new assistant coaches.
