Men’s Cross Country Posts Best Finish Ever At Rice Invitational

The Texas Southern men’s cross country team posted its best finish ever at the 44th annual Rice Invitational Friday evening in Houston.

The Tigers placed sixth overall as freshman Efrain Lira posted the team’s best finish (14th) and time (20:11) in the four-mile course. Fellow freshmen Cosmas Keter and Jose Gonzalez finished with times of 20:37 and 20:50, respectively.

Christian Sanchez (21:06), Allen Gonzalez (21:16), Dan Lerma (21:21), Brian Martinez (22:11) and Luis Delreal (23:18) rounded out the pack of runners.

The Tigers are back in action in two weeks at the McNeese State Cowboy Stampede on Sept. 28 in Lake Charles, La.
