Lindskog Top 10 After Day One of Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate On 2-Under Par

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Texas Southern men’s golf kicked off day one of the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate hosted by New Mexico State.

Junior Kci Lindskog was the top scorer for the Tigers after day one and sits tied for seventh after a 2-under. Lindskog went deep in his opening round posting a 2-under 69 which included 5 birdies, 10 pars, and 3 bogies. He finished his second round on even par with 2 birdies and an eagle.

Graduate student Devansh Chadha moved up six spots on the leaderboard and is tied for 61st with a two-round total of 153 (78-75). Freshman Matthew VanHoy was two strokes back after a 155 (78-77).

12 teams are competing in the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate as host New Mexico State is joined by Abilene Christian, Stephen F. Austin, Incarnate Word, Texas Southern, Texas A&M – Commerce, Western New Mexico, New Mexico Junior College, Odessa College, South Mountain Community College, Weatherford College, and Mesalands Community College. 

The final round of the tournament will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the NMSU Golf Course.
