Kennedy Reed Surpasses 100 Kills In 3-0 Win Against Alcorn

Kennedy Reed surpassed 100 kills this season as the Texas Southern volleyball team swept Alcorn State 3-0 in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play on Monday evening at the H&PE Arena.

The Tigers (2-16, 2-2 SWAC) won the sets 25-13, 25-17, 25-10.

How it Happen 
TSU was paced offensively by Reed who registered 13 kills, as she now has 110 thus far. Kourtni Collier registered 18 assists while Ryan Henderson paced TSU defensively with 16 digs.

Alcorn State (0-9, 0-3) was led offensively by Hannah Soloman who had nine kills. Harmoni Carswell chipped in 11 digs on the defensive side. 

Inside the Numbers
> Texas Southern finished with 40 kills, seven errors, 112 attacks (.295 hitting percentage)
> Alcorn hit .101 (24 kills, 11 errors, 129 attacks)
> The Tigers recorded 63 digs and 32 assists and six service aces
> The Lady Braves registered 40 digs, 20 assist and three service aces

Up Next
Texas Southern will host a SWAC Cluster at the H&PE Arena beginning on Oct. 8 as they take on Alabama State at 9 a.m. then Florida A&M at 7 p.m. They will conclude on Oct. 9 against Bethune-Cookman at 1 p.m.
