Henry Paces Texas Southern With 25 Points In Road Finale Win Against Arkansas-Pine Bluff

The Texas Southern men’s basketball team rallied in the finals minutes as PJ Henry led the team with 25 points in a 77-70 road victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Monday night inside the H.O. Clemmons Arena.

Henry’s 25 points was on 10-of-17 shooting from the field including being 4-of-9 from behind the arc. Johnathan Cisse added 17 points, while Jaylen Wysinger chipped in 12 points. Kenny Hunter followed with 10 points and seven boards.

Kylen Milton and Joe French combined for 40 points to lead the way for the Golden Lions.

After a tie at six points, the Tigers (12-14 Overall, 10-5 SWAC) scored seven points in a row to lead 13-6 after a layup by Hunter with 13:31 remaining in the first half.

The game was tied four more times in the first half, but Arkansas-Pine Bluff (12-16, 7-8) managed a slight, 34-32 lead going into the locker room.

UAPB led by as many as 11 points (51-40) with 13:20 remaining after a tre by French, but Wysinger hit two back-to-back three-pointers to spark an 8-0 run for TSU to get the game to the Tigers trailing, 51-48 with 11:07 remaining.

The Golden Lions went on a 9-1 run to lead by 10 points (60-50) with 7:57 remaining after a free-throw by Trejon Ware. The game got as close as a 61-60 Tiger lead after a layup by Hunter with 4:25 remaining as the Tigers came back to close out on a 16-10 run capped by a free-throw by Wysinger.
