Bridges Named 2020-21 Second Team All-SWAC

Senior guard Ataiya Bridges was named to the 2020-21 All-SWAC Second Team for the second consecutive season.

One year after earning All-SWAC honors as a reserve, Bridges made the most of her expanded role as a starter in 2020-21 as she led TSU with 16.5 points while also serving as a distributor with 3.4 assists and a SWAC-best 3.4 steals. As TSU needed Bridges, Bridges responded with five games of 20-plus points including a 29-point effort against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and 28 at Alabama State. Bridges has also had a double-digit rebound game this season in addition to an 11-assist, eight-steal performance at Prairie View A&M.

Bridges will be called upon to come through in the clutch on Wednesday as TSU takes on Alabama State in the opening round of the SWAC Tournament at 11 a.m. in Birmingham, Ala.
