Women’s Basketball Picked 11th In SWAC Preseason Poll

The Texas Southern women’s basketball team has been selected to finish 11th in the Preseason Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Predicted Order of Finish, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. The all-conference honors and preseason poll was voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.

TSU finished the 2022-23 season at 2-22 overall and 2-16 in the SWAC as Head Coach Vernette Skeete returns to action in her second year. Her first year’s roster was youthful as it featured seven freshman and two newcomers.  

The Tigers will tip-off of their season on Monday, Nov. 6 against New Mexico. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m in Albuquerque, N.M.
