Softball Falls In Home Finale

TSU dropped its 2023 home finale to Grambling State by a 7-2 margin on Saturday at Memorial Park.
 
Grambling State jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first inning and added four more in the fourth. Senior Tamera McKnight broke the drought with a solo homer in the sixth followed by grad student Daryn Haslam’s solo homer in the seventh.
 
TSU totaled five hits on the afternoon while Nora Rodriguez came on in relief and struck out six for TSU.

Immediately after the contest, the team honored six seniors in Jasmine Dodd, Destinee Dixon, Tamera McKnight, Jazmine Gendorf, Nora Rodriguez and Crimson Davis.
 
The team will find out it needs to make up its contest against Prairie View A&M next week or turn its attention to the SWAC Tournament in Gulfport, Miss. on May 10.
