Soccer To Play In Final Regular Season Match At PVAMU

The Texas Southern soccer team will travel 52 miles down the road to take on Prairie View A&M in its final regular season match in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play. The game is set for 7 p.m. at the PVAMU Soccer Complex.

Texas Southern (5-12-1 Overall, 4-3-1 SWAC) went 1-1 in the state of Alabama last week as they beat Alabama State 2-1, and fell to Alabama A&M, 6-2. Against ASU, Isabella Dillow and Liliane Close Baez would score for TSU as the team took 22 shots with 11 being on goal.

Against AAMU, the score was tied at two goals apiece, however the Lady Bulldogs would score four unanswered goals to win the match. Hajar Benjoud who leads the SWAC in shots on goal and shots, led TSU’s offense with three shots and three being on goal and one goal scored in 71 minutes of action.


Scouting Report
Prairie View (3-10-1, 3-4-1) took a trip to Alabama as well while defeating Alabama A&M on Friday 2-0, and tying Alabama State 1-1 on Sunday. In the shutout win, Prairie View got goals from Nia Wilson
 and Kamara Bradley while the team totaled seven shots on goal. Medinat Lawal played a full match as goalkeeper and tallied four saves.

Against ASU, Mya Sheridan scored her third goal of the season in the 1-1 draw. Lawal would record 11 saves for the Lady Panthers.
