Grayson, Lilley Earn SWAC Volleyball Honors

Texas Southern junior libero Valencia Grayson and freshman outside hitter Danielle Lilley have been recognized by the Southwestern Athletic Conference as its Volleyball Players of the Week.

Grayson led TSU defensively with 21 digs in the match against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Houston native (Booker T. Washington) also added seven assists and a service ace during the match. Lilley recorded 24 kills to lead TSU in a 3-2 victory over UAPB last week. The San Bernardino, Calif. (Citrus Valley) native also finished with a .286 percentage and 56 total attacks.

The team is back in action this Friday in Jackson, Miss. on the Jackson State campus for the SWAC East Round-up. The team’s first game is against Alcorn State at 3 p.m. followed by Alabama A&M at 7 p.m.
