George Wins 400, Women’s Track & Field Has 19 Top-10 Marks At TSU Relays

The TSU women’s track & field team had 19-top 10 marks at the 72nd annual TSU Relays this past weekend on campus.
 
Bayli George won the 400 in a time of 56.26 while Jessica Williams finished third (20:40.75) in the 5,000. Adayshia Coleman (15.34), Kayla Jenkins (15.39) and Lyriq Ray (16.16) finished 4-5-7 in the 100-meter hurdles while Ray ran a time of 1:12.64 in the 400-meter hurdles.
 
Avia Trammel finished sixth in the 100 (12.52) while Diamond Barrett claimed third in the 200 after a run of (25.47).  The 4×100-meter relay squadcplaced fourth overall after a time of 47.91.
 
MyKaylen Davis finished fourth (4-7.75) in the high jump and jumped a personal best of 17-1.25 in the long jump to place second. Kennedy Brown (16-10.75) and Kalyn Washington (15-3.5) followed as they placed third and fifth, respectively. Kayla Robert-Day threw 39-11.5 to finish second in the shot put while Gianna Trotter threw 127-9 to finish second in the discus. Angela Sanchez followed with a third-place throw of 125-4 to place third.
 
Morgan Haywood had a personal-best throw of 131-1 en route to a second-place throw in the hammer followed by Sanchez (128-7 / 3rd) and Victoria Mancillas (100-5 / 5th).
 
The team is back in action at the Prairie View and Victor Lopez (Rice) Relays on Saturday.
