Women’s Cross Country Posts Best Finish At SWAC Since 2017

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Texas Southern women’s cross country team wrapped up their 2023 regular season at the 2023 SWAC Cross Country Championships with its best finish since 2017.
 
The team placed seventh overall as it marked its highest finish at the championship since a seventh-place finish at the 2017 SWAC Cross Country Championship. The Lady Tigers, which had to deal with airplane delays on Sunday, remained consistent throughout the race as they were in sixth place as a team after the first 2,680 meters but fell no lower than seventh.
 
Freshman McKenna Duty led the way for TSU as she finished 18th overall in a time of 21:01 followed by freshman Alyvia Brown’s 19th-place time of 21:02.04. Fellow freshman Jessica Williams ran a time of 21:07.6 as she placed 23rd overall. Tardranique London (23:49.2) and Kayla Jenkins (29:12) rounded out the runners for TSU.
