Women’s Basketball To Conclude Non-Conference Slate At Home Against Tarleton

•The Texas Southern women’s basketball team will conclude its non-conference slate with competition against Tarleton State on Saturday, Dec. 30 inside the H&PE Arena. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

•The Tigers (1-9)  will look to break an eight game losing streak as they are coming off an 83-62 home loss to California Baptist on Dec. 20. Junior guard Daeja Holmes neared a double-double as she had a game-high 21 points to go with nine rebounds.

•Tarleton State (3-7) fell at New Orleans on Monday, 67-59 as Faith Acker led the Texans scoring with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, adding six rebounds and two blocks.

•Taniya Lawson sits at No.9 in the SWAC for scoring, averaging 11.5 ppg.

•Jaida Belton is the third leading blocker in the SWAC having 15 in 10 games played.

•TSU Head Coach Vernette Skeete will look for her first career win in the month of December.

•The Tigers will have a lot to prove as they were selected to finish 11th in the Preseason SWAC Predicted Order of Finish.
