Christophe Tallies Match-High Seven Saves In Loss To Grambling State

The Texas Southern University soccer team opened Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play dropping a 3-0 contest against Grambling State University on Friday evening inside Alexander Durley Stadium. 

Texas Southern Goalkeeper Jaidyn Christophe saw all 90 minutes of action while registering a match-high seven saves. 

How It Happen
•GSU first found the back of the net in the 32nd minute of the first half after a goal by Kaylen Jankans. 
•Grambling State added on to the lead in the 49th minute after a shot by Morgan Johnson assisted by Batriz Kretteis. 
•GSU’s sealed the game in the 78th minute as Sophia Lezizidis scored her 10th goal of the season. 

Inside the numbers
•TSU registered 11 shots with five being on goal
•GSU tallied 21 shots with 10 being on goal 
•GSU Goalkeeper Madison Covey-Taylor saw 90 minutes of action for TSU while registering five saves 
•Isabella Dillowed paced TSU with five shots with two being on goal
•TSU’s Hajar Benjoud added three shots with one being on goal 
•Victoria Pucci of TSU tallied two shots with one being on goal
•TSU’s Melissa Knutson’s lone shot was on goal
•Beatriz Kretteis and Karlyn Judge each had three shots with two being on goal

Texas Southern will remain at home inside Alexander Durley stadium to take on Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
