•The Texas Southern women’s basketball team will look to snap a five game losing streak as they take on Alcorn State inside the H&PE Arena on Monday. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.

•Texas Southern (5-22 Overall, 4-12 SWAC) leads the all-time series since 2011-12, 17-7, however TSU loss the first match-up this season, 69-51 in Lorman, Miss.

•The Tigers fell 101-51 to Jackson State in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match-up Saturday night inside the H&PE Arena.

•Texas Southern was led by Tatyanna Clayburne who registered a season-high 15 points including being 4-for-7 from behind the arc. Maci Quiller followed up with eight points and eight rebounds.

•Alcorn State (8-18, 6-9) won its last four of five games. Last timeout, the Lady Braves beat Prairie View, 55-53 on Saturday afternoon in Prairie View, Texas.

•Zy’Nyia White tallied up a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. She was followed by Nakia Cheatham with 17 points and eight rebounds

•White is the 10th leading scorer in the SWAC as she averages 11.8 points per game.

•Alcorn State was predicted to finish ninth in the SWAC Preseason Poll.

•The Tigers are led offensively by Taniyah Lawson as she averages 10.6 points and 3.0 boards.

•Belton is the fourth leading blocker in the SWAC having 45 in 27 games played. •The Tigers will have a lot to prove as they were selected to finish 11th in the Presea-

son SWAC Predicted Order of Finish.

• The Tigers brought in nine newcomers this year. However, they’ve lost nine letterwinners and feature a pair of new assistant coaches.
