PVAMU upped the lead to 17-11 but the Tigers went on an 8-2 run keyed by three kills from Danielle Lilley to knot the contest at 19-19. A service error by TSU ended the rally but TSU redeemed itself with an ace and Lilley kill to move ahead 21-20. Two more service errors allowed PVAMU to remain in the match as they would knot the contest at 24-all. PVAMU committed a service error to send match point to TSU and TSU took full advantage as PVAMU committed an attack error to close out the set down 2-0.

TSU jumped ahead 4-0 in set three before TSU answered with three straight but the Tigers kept their foot on the gas as they extended the lead to 10-4.
