HOUSTON- Devaughn Robinson, a two-time Texas Southern University alumnus and former member of the golf team, clinched his first title with a victory at the Greater Houston City Amateur Championships at the Memorial Park Golf Course last weekend.
Robinson claimed victory on the first hole of a playoff with Justin Kaplan. He posted a four-round total of 274 after he shot 69, 69, 65 and 71.
Robinson, the Bahamas Golf Federation's reigning national champion and top performer for the Bahamas national team at the Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships qualified to play in the United States Mid-Amateur Championships this weekend in Atlanta, Georgia.
