The Texas Southern University baseball team extended its win streak to nine games as they swept Southern University 6-4, 8-7, and 14-1 in a three game series at MacGregor Park over the weekend.

Game 1: TSU 6, SU 4
CJ Castillo hit his third homer of the season as TSU came out on top of SU, 6-4.

After an early run scored by the Jaguars at the top of the first, the Tigers plated two runs at the bottom of the second as Nin Burns, ll walked and moved up a base on a Jason Lazo single. Lazo moved up on a passed ball and Michael Goudeau singled to left field to put the Tigers first run on the board. Shannon Martin hit into a double play as Lazo scored for a 2-1 Tiger lead.

Leading off the bottom of the third was Castillo who homered to left field, making it his third of the season. Southern responded at the top of the fourth three runs on three hits, including a homer from Ryan Ollison to take a 4-3 lead. This would be the closes the Jaguars would come as Texas Southern plated one run in the fifth and two more in the bottom of the eighth to pick up the win.

Texas Southern picked up six runs on 10 hits while the Jaguars plated four runs on 11 hits. Issac Garcia (8-5) picked up the win, pitching the last two innings, striking out one with no walks. Jaden Brasseaux (5-5) took the loss in one inning giving up two runs and walking two.

Game 2: TSU 8, SU 7
Texas Southern rallied back from a 6-0 deficit to come back and beat Southern 8-7, walk off style after a 2-out homer by Goudeau.

The Jaguars led 6-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning. TSU then placed two runs on three hits to cut the deficit, 6-2. At the bottom of the seventh, three Tigers walked back-to-back and the Tigers plated five runs on three hits to gain the lead, 7-6.

Southern tied the game at the top of the eighth as Khyle Radcliffe tripled to center to score Kameron Byrd who walked to get on base. At the bottom of the ninth, Burns, ll singled then Lazo hit into a double play. With two outs, Goudeau homered to left field to win the game. Justin Barnes picked up the win for the Tigers in one inning, striking out two batters.

Game 3: TSU 14, SU 1
The Tigers exploded on six hits for eleven runs in the first inning to sweep Southern 3-0 in the series on Saturday evening. Tyler Williams hit a 3-run homer to highlight the frame. Goudeau added on to the deficit at the bottom of the fourth, hitting his second homer of the series.

Jesse Herrera, lll went 2-for-3 and had two runs and two RBIs while Williams went 1-for-3 with two runs and five RBIs. James Malone (1-2) picked up the win for the Tigers in 6.1 innings while only giving up one run and striking out one.
