For the 12th straight year, the TSU softball team has earned the top seed out of the SWAC West in the SWAC Tournament as they’ll face Jackson State at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in Gulfport, Miss.
Both teams will meet for the first time since the 2019 SWAC Tournament and for the 13th time in 10 years as TSU holds a 9-3 mark. TSU enters the tournament looking for its first SWAC Championship since 2017 as this year’s tournament marks the postseason debut of Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M from the SWAC East.
The tournament will be played in a double-elimination format with action set to start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday with games slated to run through May 13. If necessary, the final tournament championship game has been scheduled for Saturday, May 14. All tournament games will be available live on the SWAC Digital Network.
