VERMILLION, S.C. - South Dakota was red-hot from the field as TSU fell 88-69 on the road Friday night.

South Dakota would storm out to a nine-point lead minutes into the contest but the Tigers fought back for a 13-10 deficit with 13 minutes on the clock following John Jones' jumper. The Coyotes would respond with a 13-0 run over the next three minutes as they nailed a trio of three-pointers en route to a 26-13 lead. The Tigers closed to 29-21 after Jordan Andrews' layup but turnovers and timely shooting by South Dakota extended its lead as they outscored the Tigers 17-4 over the final 5:30 of the half.

TSU would close to within 14 on two occasions midway through the second half but that would be the closest they would draw as South Dakota continued to answer with hot shooting en route to a 62.9 percent clip overall and 77 percent from beyond the arc.

Yahuza Rasas and Tyrik Armstrong both scored in double figures with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Rasas also led TSU with six rebounds along with six from Justin Hopkins.

TSU is back in action Tuesday night as they'll head to the University of Arkansas for a 7 p.m. tip.
