Arabella Hall led the Jaguars (6-18, 6-8 SWAC) with 13 kills, followed by Shelby Jolly's nine kills.

The Lady Tigers return to action Monday when they host Grambling State. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

SET ONE

The Lady Tigers jumped out to an early 9-3 lead and never looked back as they breezed to their easiest win of the night. Jannson knocked down four kills on eight attempts and had five digs, while Anderson and Stone had three kills on four attempts. The Lady Tigers hit .520 (15 kills and two errors on 25 attempts) in the opening set.

SET TWO

Southern and TSU went back-and-forth during the early portions of set two before the Jaguars went ahead 17-12 with the help of a 6-1 run. Hall knocked down six of her team-high 13 kills for the Jaguars in set two, while committing only one error on 11 attempts in the second frame.

The Lady Tigers would cut Southern's lead to one with a 5-2 run of their own. Anderson knocked down consecutive kills to cut the Jaguar advantage to 21-20.

After an exchange of points, TSU would finally tie the set with back-to-back points on an Anderson block and a kill by Moore to make the score 23-23. The teams continued to exchange points on the serve-receive until Southern's Shelby Jolly managed consecutive kills to give the visitors a 27-25 win.

SET THREE

The most back-and-forth set of the match featured nine ties and five lead changes. Southern appeared to take control when the Jaguars slowly built an 18-14 lead. However, the Lady Tigers scored six of the next seven points, which included three from Southern errors.

Southern would briefly regain the lead at 21-20, but TSU finished the set with five unanswered points. Robinson had three of her five kills in the set during the last run that gave the Lady Tigers the 2-1 match lead.

SET FOUR

The Lady Tigers rode the momentum from the set three victory to an early 9-4 lead in set four. The visitors began to claw their way back, and briefly took a 15-14 lead thanks to four consecutive TSU attack errors.

After a TSU timeout, the Lady Tigers reclaimed a 16-15 lead, and despite several more Southern ties in the match, the home team would not relinquish its lead. Anderson knocked down six kills in the set, while Stone put away four, including three after the team's momentum-shifting timeout.
