FORT WORTH, Texas- Texas Southern's Demontrae Jefferson poured in a game high and season high 29 points on Monday but it wasn't enough to get TSU past #15 TCU as the Tigers fell by a score of 91-72.

The Tigers kept things close in the first half as they trailed TCU at the break by only two points (41-39).

Trayvon Reed and Robert Lewis each contributed 14 points in the contest and their scoring was a big factor in what was a highly competitive first half.

In the second half the Tigers were outscored 50-33 as JD Miller helped lead the charge for the Horned Frogs as he contributed 20 points.

Texas Southern shot 44.3 percent from the field on Monday while limiting TCU to shooting 43.6 percent. TSU scored 16 points in transition but allowed TCU to score 27 second chance points offensively.

Individually TSU guard Jefferson has been scoring at an extremely high level this season as he currently ranks 12th in the NCAA in points per game (23.4 ppg) while also leading the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

He is ranked 3rd in the league in assists per game (3.7 apg) and is the only player in the SWAC to average 20 plus points per game.

Texas Southern closes out non-conference play this weekend on the road at BYU.
