MONTGOMERY, Ala.- During day two of the Alabama State Hornets Classic, the TSU Lady Tigers competed very strongly to advance to 3rd place. The Lady Tigers had a record of 4-1, and a total pin count of 4562. The Lady Tigers will go into the final day of bracket match play the number 3 seed.
The Lady Tigers defeated Alabama A&M, Alabama State, SU, and FAMU. They fell short to Louisiana Tech. The team averaged 912.4 total pins for 5 matches today.
Kimari Jackson, junior, had an excellent day of bowling finishing in 2nd place overall. She averaged a 205.6 for 5 games, and had a high game of 220. The Lady Tigers also had another top individual finish with Jaden Takayesu, sophomore, coming in 4th, with an average of 194.8. These two Lady Tigers made the Hornets Classic All-Tournament Team. Brittany Torres averaged 191.0 and Denisyha Waller averaged 178.3 for today.
The Lady Tigers will continue on to day three of the Hornets Classic in the bracket play. Each team will bowl the best 4 of 7 baker matches to advance their seed. The Lady Tigers are looking forward to bringing home a championship.
