The 10-run rule gave the Tigers an early victory in seven innings as the Texas Southern baseball team beat Alcorn State 18-8 in the final game of a three-game series inside MacGregor Park.
Nin Burn, ll highlighted the game with a 2-run homer to left field in the bottom of the fourth inning as the Tigers led, 9-4.
The game was as close to the Tiger leading 10-8 going into the bottom of the seventh. TSU scored eight runs on four hits in the bottom of the frame to seal the victory.
Josiah Castro picked up the win in six innings, striking out seven batters. Andres Chirinos took the loss for the Braves in three innings on the mound while striking out five and walking seven.
Jaden Jones and Jason Lazo each had three hits, while Burns, ll registered two.
Texas Southern will take on Huston-Tilloston on Tuesday at 3 p.m. inside McGregor Park.
