
STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. - The Texas Southern University Women’s Golf team concluded their round at the National Women’s Collegiate Golf Championship, hosted by the Women’s in Golf Foundation, with a third-place finish.
Grad student Rev Alcantara posted a 155 (82-73) total after firing a 1-over par final round to climb up the leaderboard to finish in 3rd place individually. Freshman Kennedi Lee was two strokes back on 157 (78-79) and placed 5th. Junior Ashlie Hobbs finished tied 11th.
“We played closer to my expectations,” Texas Southern University head golf coach, Dr. Gary Grandison said. “I am hopeful that we learned from this experience so that we can grow stronger as a program,” Dr. Grandison concluded.
The Lady Tigers gear up for their final tournament of the 2021-2022 season where they will compete in this year’s PGA Works Championship hosted in Philadelphia, PA. The Tigers will be playing at The Union League Golf Course and Union League’s Liberty Hill Golf Course.
