After all, he’s got a thriving practice at Legends Sports Complex in The Woodlands, a healthy clientele base and a team of expert trainers.
A dive beneath the surface would show a 12-year journey that began at Madison High School, where Jonkins was a standout defensive back and eventually helped coach a state semi-finalist team led by Vince Young.
It also took him to Texas Southern University, where he still holds multiple defensive records, and to University of Texas and Texas A&M where he has served as a coach at football camps.
Eventually, it led him to become the strength and conditioning coach for the Chinese Olympic basketball team before they competed in the 2008 Beijing Games.
