York Earns Preseason All-SWAC Honors, Volleyball Picked Third

Texas Southern senior setter Breyanna York was named to the 2019 All-SWAC Preseason Volleyball First Team while the Lady Tigers were picked to finish third in the preseason poll.

A 5-11 senior from Temple, Texas, York finished the 2018 season ranked fourth in the SWAC in assists while finishing second on the team in service aces (27). She also had 35 block assists en route to earning a spot on the 2018 All-SWAC Second Team.

As a team, TSU was picked third after finishing 10-8 in SWAC play last year. The Lady Tigers return a total of three starters and seven letterwinners for 2019. The season begins on Friday, Aug. 30 versus Delaware State at the SWAC/MEAC Tournament in Montgomery, Ala.
